Eating healthy is something that many of us try to do. There are however, certain foods that are extremely beneficial for women to eat to help with issues such as menopause, pregnancy, breast cancer and bone health.
Keeping your bones healthy as you age is so important to avoid brittle bones as you get older. Getting a good supply of calcium, vitamin D and vitamin K is really helpful in protecting your bones. Eating certain foods, such as kale and asparagus will supply you with vitamin K.
Beans can provide you with protein and fibre, helping to keep your blood pressure down, your heart rate down and blood sugar under control. Things that can contribute to heart problems if out of control.
Fruits such as berries have great a great range of nutrients along with other fruit varieties.
Yoghurt provides calcium and some have added vitamin D.
Healthy fats from salmon, avocado and sardines can contribute omega 3’s.

Rather than taking supplements, it is best to get what you need from food, if at all possible, as often there are other nutrients in the foods that work together to provide you with the best nutrient profile. You may not get the full benefit of the nutrient from taking it in isolation from a capsule or powder.
