Frequently Asked Questions

1

Do I need to wear fancy gym gear?

No, comfortable exercise clothes are Ok, just make sure you have really good shoes for exercise that are fitted well. Better to spend a little extra on good shoes rather than fancy clothes, as you cannot exercise in shoes that do not support your foot.

2

How much does it cost?

General classes are $20.
You can pay per class, or buy a card of 10 classes for $200 or 5 classes for $100.

3

Do I need to book into a class?

I keep in close contact with everyone and ask that if you are not able to attend a class for any reason to give me 24 hours notice via txt, email or phone call. This allows me to determine numbers for the class. Sometimes the venue for the class will change depending on attendance so I need to know in advance who will be attending for the general classes. If a hall class is too small it will move to my studio, so I often check with people a day or two before class if I am unsure who will be attending.

Most people pick a day and make that there regular class, however you can attend another class if you cannot come to your regular class – just check ahead that space is available.

4

Can I exercise if I have an injury?

This depends on the nature of the injury, on your specialist or doctor’s assessment of your readiness to return to exercise, and how mobile you are. A broken bone will take minimum 6 weeks to heal, and will require some physio to regain movement and muscle tone, but returning to exercise, weather it be in a class, or 1 on 1 for a short period of time to regain strength and mobility will depend on your pain level, and doctors permission to return.
Damaged ligaments, tendons and operations are all up to the individuals’ ability to heal.

5

How many times a week should I attend?

As little as one, up to three times a week. It depends on how fast you want to see results and what your other activities are. A variety of physical activities is best, so maintaining a regular walking routine as well as other activities, and adding  1-2 exercise classes per week is the ideal.

6

Is there a cancellation policy?

Yes, I require 24 hours notice of non-attendance. As most people are on a card for classes, if I have not been informed that you are unable to attend, a class will be forfeited. If you have an emergency on the morning of class, as long as your let me know you will not lose a class. I will always let a person know that a class has been forfeited.

7

Do I need any equipment?

I supply the equipment, however, you can purchase your own pack containing 1 ankle band, 1 long resistance band, a Pilates ball and a half roller and 2 circle bands for the arms. Cost is approximately $60+. You can add your own hand weights and mat or  these can be added to the pack.

8

Is there a time limit on the cards?

Yes. If you purchase a 10 class card it must be used in 10 weeks. Same for a 5 class card. If you are unable to attend your usual class you can do a makeup class that week in another class. If you cannot do the makeup class then you will forfeit 1 class. There will be a few exceptions such as family issues, but not baby-sitting the grandies! . If you are going on holiday overseas, then you pay up to that holiday so that your card is finished before you leave. Cards are not kept open while you are on holiday.
