Exercise linked to a longer Life
As the population ages the problems associated with old age can add a huge financial burden to the individual and the public health system.
Many studies have been carried out to look at how we can reduce the impact of aging on our quality of life.
A study carried in the UK and published in BMJ (British medical Journal), looked at the impact of exercise as we age and its overall impact on death.
It found that if the minimum recommendation of 150 minutes per week of moderate intensity exercise was adhered to it could potentially prevent 46% of deaths due to inactivity.
So if you are one of those people that is active most days of the week and attend a regular exercise class a few times a week, keep up the good work, you are potentially giving yourself many more years of good health.
If you haven’t started a regular program yet, then talk to a friend that is exercising and find out where they attend.(Momentum Fitness!!)
